There is no conclusive flavor that distinguishes a Shrimp from a Prawn. They’re very similar in taste and texture. Some say Prawns are a bit sweeter and meatier than Shrimps, while Shrimps are more delicate. They both provide a good source of protein, healthy fats, and many vitamins and minerals, yet are low in calories and can be used interchangeably together in food.

A tip for defrosting Prawn:
How to Thaw Frozen Prawn
Frozen Prawns should always be thawed before cooking. To thaw frozen Prawns take them out of their bag and place them in a bowl under cold (not warm) running water. It will be good to go in just a few minutes. If you don’t want to let the water run, place them in a bowl of cold water and let them rest until defrosted (They’ll take about twice as long using this method). For most recipes, it’s a good idea to thoroughly dry your Prawns on paper towels before proceeding. You can also apply this method when defrosting Shrimps.
